Complete Marine Freight successfully delivers Maxi 72 Bellamente in time for the Palma Vela.
Having completed the Voile de St.Bart in the Caribbean, both Maxi 72’s Bellamente and Proteus were booked aboard a
Spliethoff vessel bound for Palma.
A barge was provided by Ben Beer Racing in St. Barts on Friday and all the 5 x 40ft race containers were transported to St. Thomas to meet the waiting vessel.
The containers were loaded below deck and the yachts arrived on Saturday afternoon having sailed from St. Barts straight after racing. In total 26 yachts were loaded to come back to the Med.
The ship crossed over in good time leaving St. Thomas on the 18th April arriving into Mallorca on the 29th April at 0830.
With the May bank holiday in Spain on the 1st, CMF had no choice but to negotiate with customs to allow the containers to be transferred from the ship to STP to allow the team maximum time before the Palma Vela event starting
on the 4th May.
All containers were delivered into STP on Sunday 30th April and finally on Tuesday 2nd May when customs reopened the containers were cleared in recored time at 1100 to allow Bellamente to train that same day.
Bellamente went on to race successfully at Palma Vela, not bad to do an event in the Caribbean and 2 1/2 weeks later be competing in the Med
