A Busy Week for CMF Organising the Winter Storage for Race Yachts

If you are thinking of storing your yacht for a winter period and need somewhere to do some work see the following story:

Last week, CMF arranged the storage and yacht transport for two different racing yachts here in Palma; Ran V, the 72ft Mini Maxi and also the TP52 SY Sorcha were transported and stored in 2 different warehouse facilities in Mallorca.
TP52 SY Sorcha
The TP52 and mast were trucked down from the UK and finally arrived in Palma on different days last week. CMF organised the trucking to Palma and then the transfer on to local vehicles to move the mast and container up to the storage warehouse in Binissalem. The boat arrived a few days later into Palma and was again transferred on to a local trailer to move to Binissalem.
Due to over demand on the main shipyard here in Palma the warehouses offer Race boats a great solution for wintering and being able to carry out winter refits.
Ran V
In the same week CMF moved the Mini Maxi Ran V into a much bigger storage warehouse in the main industrial here in Palma. This operation involved moving their 3 x 40ft containers and the boat itself all on the same day. The boat was trucked through the centre of Palma with special permission from the local Palma Police. With the boat measuring 5.75m wide and 24.5m long it was a serious piece of equipment to be moving through the centre of any town!
The whole process took half a day to complete and the boat is now safely in her winter storage shed.
