Team Prada "Luna Rossa" trucks their TP52 with Complete Marine Freight
Valencia, sun shining, boat and container ready to load. Trucks arrive, container loaded and on its way, boat next.
Keel and keel bulb loaded first at the aft of the truck, Luna Rossa a seasoned Americas Cup team have all the tricks, a lot of fairy liquid and suds used to aid rotatation of the 3 ton keel from an upright position to a laying down position.
Next the truck extends to its full length, easily accomodating the Tp52, a few minor adjustments and boat is loaded. Final piece the mast, this sits on the deck of the boat in custom built wooden cradles. The specialised boat trailer and truck make some final adjustments to accomodate the mast. The whole package looks just like the slick racing team it carries.
36 hours later, the truck arrives earlier than planned in Cascais, Team Prada offload and within 3 hours the boat is in its cradle with the keel on. Not bad considering some of the other teams in the Audi Med Cup are sailing up to Cascais from the Med, weather permitting a transit time of 4- 5 days by sea, with the wrong weather delaying or worse damaging.
